The small community Denkershausen is situated at the edge of the Mandelbecker forest towards th Leine valley and has together with Wiebrechtshausen, ca. 500 inhabitants.
Denkershausen was mentioned in a document for the first time in the year 1141, when the Northeim Blasius monastery owned there two oxgangs. Well worth seeing in the village Wiebrechtshausen is the monastery and an old minster. the exact year of the foundation is not known unfortunately.
